How To Extract a File From a Cabinet File
Make sure the TMP environment variable is set to the same path as your TEMP environment variable. Type SET at the command prompt to see the current environment settings. For example, if your TEMP variable is equal to C:, then you would type the following at the command prompt.
SET TMP=C:\TEMP
To display the contents of a cabinet (CAB) file without extracting the files, type:
EXTRACT /D A:\U1.CAB
To extract the file UTOPIA.DLL from U1.CAB to the C:directory, you would type:
EXTRACT A:\U1.CAB /L C:\MSBOB UTOPIA.DLL
To obtain more information on EXTRACT command line parameters, type EXTRACT /?
NOTE: EXTRACT.EXE is located on Disk 1 of the Microsoft Bob disks. When you install Bob, EXTRACT.EXE is copied to your MSBOBdirectory during Bob setup.
