Cheap UPS's (Uninterruptable Power Supply's)

Anyone being looking for a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) for their PC's/Modem/Routers?

What is a UPS?
Put simply its a battery backup for your PC.

Why do I want one?
Ever seen the lights flicker in your house? That can harm your PC. A UPS prevents this. Ever had power cuts lasting a few seconds and your pc cutting out? UPS's also prevent this. A UPS is almost mandatory if you run a server at home. I have 3 UPS's and another coming soon (one of the 1200VA Dynamode ones from eBuyer).

Shipping to anywhere in the UK/N.Ireland only unfortunately so sorry all those who live outside of the UK.

I once thought the same until I read about the facts on surge protection..
There's quite a few sights out there that say the same too!

I wasn't talking about surges though. I was talking about brown-outs which means the power drops below a usable threshold for "x" amount of time. While UPS's do have surge supressors in them, I agree they aren't much good, but its better than nothing

It is best to have one yes, especially if you're concious about losing valuable data.
