Woot, installing. Hope it's finally usable for day to day browsing.

It's not too bad, especially after the dissapointment that was the last build of IE8. It has some pretty cool features, like InPrivate Browsing, but I don't see this swaying the Firefox and Opera users. If your one of the 70 or 80 people (sadly, myself included) who uses IE as your main/only browser, you'll probably enjoy this.

Well, when I tried the IE8 Beta 1, i dont think there was anything too 'awesome'.

I want to see this "InPrivate" Browsing though. What does it do?

I mainly use Firefox, I'm open to returning to IE though. I tried IE8 beta 1, it was a disaster. I'm surprised they didn't add a huge WIP logo to it.

Wow, just installed. This looks like it's actually going to be a great release.

Speeds have really improved and most sites work. There's a handy icon in the address bar to render a website in compatibility mode for sites not up to date for IE 8 (MySpace is one of them), no restarts required.

I'm going to try Beta 2 on Windows 7 6519 tonight.
Beta 1 would not install on 7.

It's in tools, and what it "does" is that it is a browsing mode in which all cookies, history and other such things are disabled.

...they did... :blink

it was "beta 1"

I tried this, but it uninstalled beta 1 and said my copy of windows wasn't compatible with Internet Explorer... I'm using XP Pro... so I just reinstalled beta 1 and put it back in it's cobwebs.

I got a BSOD while installing it (Vista Ultimate x86 SP1), but after the computer rebooted, it worked like a charm. It is definitely better than Beta 1, its Faster and More Stable.

I was awake for like 28 hours when I wrote that. I suppose what I meant was that I'm suprised they released it at all.

I've already noticed a few bug's in this buid of IE.
Often, when googling somthing, it will only load the first few result's, and will only load the other's once you try to interact with the page.
On sites such as youtube, the autocomplete menu that drop's down when conducting a search is blank.
Both of these problems go away when viewing pages in compatability mode.
Anyone else experienced these things, or is my sleep deprivation causing me to hallucinate bug's?

Well, Explain yourself...

What do you mean that MS going back to Windows 95 Style??? I think all their installers are perfectly designed.

What happened there? That About box is the IE6 one isn't it, even the logo in IE7 is Vista-style rather than that Windows 2000-ish one.
