Hmm, used to have these, wonder where they went.
And yes, these are ABW by the 10-year standard. IIRC, the sysreqs for Reader Rabbit was Win3.11 with some software package, Win95 or Win98. And yes, this'll run under 8 MB RAM!

This sold like pancakes back then.

I used the RTM version of vista when it came out, with my new PC. At first it ran fine for me. But back then i was the average PC user and did not understand the concept of reinstalling, and keeping the OS clean. After time it got slower and slower, and also throughout the whole time the explorer crashes were frequent.

I rarely had BSOD's though, i have had more with windows 7 so far than i ever did with vista. (I still deem windows 7 far more stable, never had an explorer crash to date and it freezes for a few seconds only very rarely).

Overall, i liked the increased features over xp. It had a lot of potential, however being such the resource hog it was and with so many crashes, it is my least favourite OS out of the three mentioned.

1. Use bitmaps, made in MSPaint.
2. VB. What do you expect?
3. The memory leaks aren't leaks, they're just excessively doing stuff they shouldn't.
BTW, you can do some pretty amazing stuff in just BASIC, for example, look at MSDOS's BASIC samples.

I like my ISP (Westnet).
The only thing i don't like is they don't offer ADSL 2+ to our area (although it can't be helped, they use testra's infrastructure, i hate telstra with a burning passion).

We pay $100 AUD ($91.50 USD) for up to 8 Mbps line speed (We get 6.9 due to ~3 km from exchange). We have a download limit of 30gb peak 30 gb off peak (off peak 2AM-10AM).

Yes Australias internet is a horrible rip off. However we hardly ever have problems with our net unless it's telstra's fault. Service is WONDERFUL.

The drop in FPS happens because of either:-
- Your CPU is too weak to handle it (don't even attempt fraps with a Celeron/Sempron or any other single core CPU and expect good frame rates).
- Your HDD is too slow to handle the data flow (requires up to 60MB/s sustained for 1440x900 resolution, and more for a higher resolution).

You need to rectify both of the above for it to work properly. For the HDD, using RAID0 is how I managed it. RAID0 with 2 drives, should easily handle 140MB/s with decent identical 250GB or larger drives.

My mockup of what I imagine Windows Copenhagen build 6670 to be.
Its a nice mockup, not to be mean, but you used paint for this, no?
just a few complaints anyways, from the looks of it, the start orb is to high up, there is no aero effects or simple transparency (Like seen in some of my pictures) besides that it looks good for a quick mockup

The whole thing was made in Kolourpaint except for a few things copied. And it took me... one hour. There was a blackout right after so I was lucky. I was bored so I really didn't intend for it to be good. I have no idea how to do such transparency neither how to draw Aero. Anyways, it's Copenhagen 6670 and I imagine they're missing because Microsoft wants it to load up quicker. I'll upload my startup screen and more soon.
I recommend using Gimp, in Gimp at least, simple transparency is as easy as grabbing what you want, and making it on a seperate layer than the background, and making the layer transparent. I can do a more precise tutorial if you want, PM me, but I HIGHLY recomend you get gimp.[/quote]

I wonder why VCRs ask for the year anyways.
It's so the VCR can tell what day of the week it is. If you just put in "March 1," the VCR can't automatically tell it is Monday (or whatever day of the week it may be).

I found this whilst cleaning up my system... It is not x64 compatible.
It's basically a MIDI keyboard, but it's pretty useful for when you're bored\needing some cheap MIDI synth's..
It's like less than a MB when compressed.
I'll try to get it onto the FTP sometime this week... Fairly certain it's abandonware..

It's my idea of clean... when you've got two on your desk (for the main uses) two under your desk (I sit far enough back that I can actually use them too... it's kinda nice, I can place less important things, like a media player, or my email down there) and two above your desk... (For monitoring tools\VM systems, also for feeds and facebook)
Oh... and MaxiVista is your friend... No need for a gfx card that supports all 6...
Damn man, I got 2 set up and a have a few in the closet....

I am currently using Fraps and I find that it decreases my framerate to around 4fps, so I was wondering if there was an alternative to Fraps that might give me a better framerate?

I decided to drop the whole aspect of operating system and instead am making a DOS shell that feels like an operating system, like Windows 3.1. Well, according to WinPC Windows 3.1 is an operating system but for my uses this is irrelevant.
